Shipping and Returns
I’m so grateful that you have chosen Blue Star at Home for your paint supply needs. We ship our paint and supplies via USPS 2-3 day Priority Mail, First Class Mail, or UPS ground. We ship within 24 hours, every Monday through Saturday. Due to USPS regulations, we cannot ship our Stain and Finishing Oil through the post office, so shipments that contain stain will be shipped by UPS Ground.
Our shipping charges are based on a tiered flat rate:
Spend less than $60 and pay just $9 shipping.
Spend $60-$80 and shipping is just $12.
Spend over $80 and shipping free!
When will my order ship? Will I be able to track my order?
Our goal is to fill every order within 24 hours. You will receive an email with notification of the tracking number as soon as your order is processed. If you haven’t received an email within 24 hours, check your spam folders.
Shipping times provided during checkout are estimates only, and are not guaranteed by USPS, UPS, or myself.
Do you offer international shipping?
We do not offer international shipping at this time.
What if my address is wrong?
It is important to double check your shipping address to make sure it is correct. We rely fully on our customers to enter their address correctly! If your order is returned to us because of an incorrect shipping address, we will invoice you to cover the cost of purchasing a new shipping label to re-ship your order.
What if I need to cancel my order?
If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us within 2 hours of placing your order to do so. Once your order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled.
Can I return/exchange an item?
Returns. For online purchases only, please email Cyndi at [email protected] if you’d like to make a return or exchange so we can send you our return address and a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number. We cannot accept returns after 14 days of the original purchase date and without a RMA number. You are responsible for the shipping fees to mail the items back to us. When the items are received, we will inspect the items and if there has been no use or damage, a refund will be issued. Please note that shipping charges will be deducted from the refund total even if you received free or discounted shipping on the original order. If the item is damaged, we can not issue a refund.
Exchanges. We also accept exchanges within 14 days of the original purchase date. The customer is responsible for the shipping fees to mail the items back to us. When the undamaged items are received, a refund will be issued. Once the refund is issued, you are welcome to submit another order. If the items are damaged in the return shipping, a refund can not be issued. Please email Cyndi at [email protected] if you’d like to make a return or exchange so we can send you our return address and a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number.
What if an item is damaged in transit?
On rare occasions the post office drop kicks or body slams one of our boxes, and as a result you may receive a leaked product.
If you do receive a damaged shipment, email Cyndi at [email protected] with a photo of your damaged product to start the process. Be sure to save your box and packing materials as the US Postal Service may want to see it prior to approving a claim for damages. Damage claims must be filed within 14 days of receiving shipment.
Please note a photo of the damaged shipment/paint and taking the damaged shipment to the post office for inspection is required to have a refund issued. The postal service will not refund me for their damage without those two requirements.
Most of the time, paint leakage in shipping looks messy but is quite minimal.
We seal all jars in plastic bags for this exact reason. If one of your jars leaks in shipment don’t worry, it’s probably not as bad as you think. Take a picture of the leaker and inspect it through the plastic. Usually leakers are caused from caps or foam seals shifting in transit and very little paint is actually lost. To put it in perspective, a tablespoon of paint can look like an entire jar leaked into the bag.
If it doesn’t appear that the jar is actually damaged then take it out and clean it as best as you can and see how much paint is actually lost. Minor leaks DO NOT qualify for a full refund, and cannot be returned due to carrier regulations. We will compensate you for the minimal loss and your trouble with a 20% off coupon for your next order.
If a jar is actually damaged in shipment and a significant amount of paint is lost or the jar is not salvageable we will issue a full refund for the jar or replace it.
We are here to help you be the painter and creator that you want to be. If you have any issues with shipping or product use, we are a phone call or email away!
What if my package gets lost?
On rare occasion a USPS tracking will show a package picked up but then it appears to disappear. Usually the package is still en route and it just missed getting scanned. We can contact the postal service and have them check on the package, but we are not able to file a claim for a lost package nor replace it until 15 days after the date it was shipped. Contact Cyndi at cyndi@BlueStarAtHome for questions regarding a lost package.
What if I don’t like the color?
We do our best to offer accurate information and instruction on how to use our products, however we cannot ensure your project will go off without a hitch. DIY projects often involve trial and error, and the customer assumes a certain level of risk when working with paint and paint finishes.
With that understanding, we do not offer refunds for products that have been opened and used, or in situations where the product doesn’t produce the specific color or look desired.
Discontinued, retired or otherwise reduced product is not eligible for return or exchange.
* Exception– If you do open and use a product and feel that it may be defective, please contact us and we will address your concern. If we are able to determine there was a product defect, then we will refund you the cost of the product or offer a replacement.
