Description
Staalmeester Pointed Brush
The Staalmeester is the Rolls Royce of Brushes. This pointed brush has a unique synthetic / natural bristle blend that has a short natural china bristle, blended with a longer silky synthetic bristle. The natural bristle ensures better paint absorption and the synthetic bristle component allows for a smooth, even application having minimal to no brush strokes. This is your new favorite ‘Forever’ brush!
This pointed brush is a favorite and makes it perfect for getting into corners and painting curved surfaces like spindles.
The small #14 pointed sash brush has soft bristles made of a combination of fine synthetic filaments and natural bristles designed to help hold paint.
The large #18 pointed sash brush is made of the new pro-hybrid filaments for a fine, brush stroke free finish.
Application
When starting off with a new or dry brush submerge into water to the ferrule briefly just to dampen the bristles. Give the bristles including the string a squeeze so that the brush is barely damp.
Dip your brush into the paint only half way up the bristles, otherwise it is too much paint on the brush, and clean up will be more work.
Should you notice any brush strokes, you have too much paint on your brush.
You don’t want to see paint dripping off your brush, you want enough that when you go to apply the brush, it doesn’t drag across, but slides nicely across without minimal effort.
Cleaning
Each Staalmeester brush has a beautiful beechwood handle and striking copper ferrule. The bright orange string surrounds the base of the bristles and keeps them tight and in shape. You should leave the string in place.
Clean your Staalmeester brush immediately after use by rinsing thoroughly with warm water, then suspend in water as paint will continue to seep out.. Keep your brush in tip-top shape with Fusion’s Linseed Oil Brush Soap.
