Description
Fusion Fort York Red
Named after the red uniforms of the soldiers at Ft. York in Toronto, Canada, Fusion Fort York Red is a bright red that borders between fire engine red and barn red. Splashes of this red really pops with excitement in an otherwise neutral room. When used under Coal Black or Ash for the distressed look, Fusion Fort York Red can accentuate the moldings or edges on the furniture piece.
Fusion’s results are nothing less than spectacular, providing furniture painters a best-in-class paint that features; an environmentally conscious formulation, superior durability, easy one-step application and significantly improved strength. Delivering an exceptional satin finish, this 100% acrylic paint requires minimal prep work!
No Top Coat or Wax Required
Fusion is formulated with a built in top coat, the 100% acrylic resin. You do not need to use a top coat for water permanency! If you want added protection we suggest a thin coat of Natural Stain and Finishing oil, wiped on and then back off.
Tip: On a microscopic level, flat or satin finishes have tiny ridges and valleys when the paint dries. Therefore, finger prints and marking can occur. The marks can easily be removed using a damp cloth, however, if you are concerned about dust marks, apply a coat of FUSION Beeswax Finish, Tough Coat, or Hemp Oil.
How Good is Fusion’s Coverage?
Excellent coverage! Our Fusion paint offers incredible coverage of 75 sq ft per Pint or 7m² per half liter. Our coverage is outstanding! Most projects only require a Pint, however having to buy a Quart leaves you with wasted paint and money. We are offering excellent quality and coverage, in sizes you will use, resulting in less environmental waste.
How Durable is Fusion?
Once Fusion has cured, it yields a highly durable and a washable finish. If you choose, you can of course achieve a beautiful luster by adding a top coat of Beeswax Finish, Tough Coat, or Hemp Oil. Fusion is dry to the touch after 2 hours and can accept a re-coat after 4 hours. Cure time with all acrylic paints is 21 days, however, painted surfaces can be used gently after 24 to 48 hours of drying time.
Can I Distress It?
Absolutely! Distressed or layered, this paint is extremely easy to work with, though it’s best to distress it soon after the paint has dried (about 2 hrs). It is very durable, so achieving the same result is tad more work after it has cured! It is recommended to apply a top coat when you distress because you will break open the surface, and a top coat will be necessary to prevent water damage and continued distressing through extensive wear and tear.
Can you use Fusion™ for exterior surfaces?
Yes! Fusion is a high quality 100% Acrylic resin and can withstand the elements in the sun, rain, snow, you name it! Please pay close attention to proper prep as your substrate will be very important to the adhesion, durability and longevity of Fusion.
Is it UV-resistant?
The pigments used are of the highest quality and will outperform competitors’ paints for many years longer in sunlight.
