Applicator Sponge

The Applicator Sponge is a great tool to use when applying Tough Coat.  It is made to make your top coat application stress free.  It has an easy grip, ergonomic handle and smaller surface area, making it easier to manage while providing extra stability and ease in application.

For easiest application, pour your Tough Coat on a disposable paper plate.  Slightly dampen your sponge with water and wring out.   Then dip the sponge evenly in our Tough Coat. It is best to start at one end of your project and do a solid swipe in one direction across the surface. Repeat this process over your entire piece, ensuring you always wipe your sponge in one direction only. If you wipe backwards over the wet Tough Coat surface it can cause air bubbles to form in your Tough Coat. To ensure a smooth, streak free application wipe in one direction.

Let your Tough Coat dry for  2-4 hours and then repeat the process above.  You can keep your sponge in a ziplock bag with the air removed to prevent it from drying between coats.

Cleaning the sponges are easy.  Use our Brush Cleaner and water to rinse out the residue in your sponge.  Rinse well and let dry.  You can reuse your sponge 3-5 times.
